This presentation looks at the economic issues around food insecurity, among them: New Mexico’s preponderance of low-wage jobs; slow job growth; long-term unemployment; and a regressive tax system. It includes some data on child well-being from the 2015 national KIDS COUNT Data Book, as well as offers some policy solutions from our NM KIDS are COUNTing on Us policy agenda. Presented at the Second Annual End Hunger in New Mexico Summit, which was hosted by the New Mexico Cares Foundation, Inc.

KIDS COUNT is a program of the Annie E. Casey Foundation.
