LAS CRUCES – Araceli Ramos, an immigrant from Mexico who’s lived in Las Cruces for 24 years, has seen her income shrink during the novel coronavirus pandemic like millions of other Americans. Ramos is a domestic worker who cleans houses to supplement her husband’s income, but she said she’s down to cleaning just one place every two weeks for $60.

But unlike millions of Americans, she’s unable to turn to the government for assistance.
