On Jan. 29 the New Mexico Senate approved Senate Bill 4, an $8 million appropriation to fund 2020 Census education and outreach efforts statewide to ensure an accurate population count.

Senate Bill 4 will be heard in the House Appropriations & Finance Committee before heading to the House floor for final approval.

The bill is sponsored by Sens. William F. Burt (R-33), Susan K. Herrera (D-41) and Elizabeth “Liz” Stefanics (D-39).
