NEW MEXICO CHILDREN’S ROADMAP
New Mexico Voices for Children, in partnership with the W.K. Kellogg Foundation has produced a report to highlight how recent investments in childcare, education, health care and family supports have improved opportunities for New Mexico’s children, while identifying ongoing challenges such as poverty, inequities, and limited access to services. It provides data and recommendations for the next administration on how to build on recent progress, strengthen programs, and continue improving outcomes for children and families across the state.
New Mexico Children’s Roadmap Report
The New Mexico Children’s Roadmap
New Mexico has made historic investments in children and families, creating a strong foundation for improving child well-being. Despite this progress, many children and families continue to face barriers to opportunity. Access to high-quality education, healthcare, and economic stability remains uneven, particularly for rural communities, low-income families, and those facing long-standing structural inequities. This roadmap is guided by a central question: How do these policy recommendations improve a child’s life? This roadmap focuses on three interconnected drivers of child well-being: education, health, and economic security.
