Biography

I was born on May 24, 1992 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I was
extremely lucky to be born to two parents - Peter Moulson and Rachel
Maurer - who took great care to teach me as I was growing up to appreciate what I had, and also to give back to those who taught me and the community as a whole. My parents made this a very important concept in my childhood - the concept of contributing to the community - and it helped shape who I am today.

My parents also taught me that volunteering and giving back to the community didn't have to be a chore at all, in fact, it should be something you love to do because then you'll put your heart into it and make whatever you've chosen to do all the better.

I have applied these concepts to almost everything I do in my life, but especially to my volunteer work, the majority of which is at the radio station KUNM-FM. My mother, Rachel Maurer, worked at this community-supported public radio station for several years, and, after returning to Albuquerque after many years abroad, she began to volunteer at KUNM. When I was born, my mother continued her volunteering and when I was old enough, I came with her to the station. About four years ago, I was asked by Katie Stone of the Children's Hour to come on her show to help out and to provide a youth voice and perspective. Four years and many, many hectic Saturday mornings later radio has become one of my passions. I love getting up early in the morning to go to the Children's Hour every week and I doubt that's likely to change anytime soon.
