Biography

Hi, my name is Mariah Annette Jackson-Lyons. I was born in Kansas City, Kansas on January 21, 1993. I attended Banneker Magnet School of Science and Technology until I moved to Albuquerque in 2000. I attended Lowell Elementary and am an eighth grader at Wilson Middle School. I've been able to maintain honor roll status throughout.

I was on the "A" team girls basketball team. I'm also a peer mediator, too; therefore, I'm good at helping people solve their problems. I belong to the Young Ladies Club at Isshin Ryu, were I have also been a student staff worker. I attend church at Grace Temple Baptist.

I began karate lessons in Kansas City as a young Olympian and continued instructions in Albuquerque at Isshin Ryu where I am getting ready to test for my brown belt. I plan to go to college and would like to become a business owner or manager. Also in July, I will be an ambassador in the People to People Leadership Program and will study at UCLA.
